Kina Gallery exhibition 2005
Working with mother of pearl gave me immense enjoyment. Removing the outer layer to uncover it’s iridescent beauty then adding the pierced patterns to one side; a love of empty spaces. On the other, a coloured engraving was added so when the pendant flipped it had something else to add to the lustre of the pearl.

These earrings have a quiet confidence about them. Naturally dyed and hand carved antler forms a woven basket hoop, connected by a hammer-textured sterling silver link; organic material meeting worked metal in a way that feels considered and unhurried.
The antler is naturally dyed and the warm tones you see are drawn out through several separate dyes. Each pair carries its own subtle variation in colour and grain.
They're a statement piece that doesn't shout.
Details:
Naturally dyed and carved antler with hammer-textured sterling silver.
Sterling silver ear hooks with rubber stoppers for a secure fit.
Total length (including hooks): 65mm. Width: 25mm
Each pair is unique due to the natural variation of antler
Handcrafted in New Zealand
Hand-carved Marsden Jade, one of the most sought-after varieties of NZ pounamu, set in sterling silver rectangle studs with large, secure butterfly backs.
Measuring; 21 × 14 × 5mm.
These are one-off handmade studs.
Carved by hand from reclaimed ebony, four delicate seed pods, inspired by the shape of agapanthus plant seed heads, hang, attached internally along a naturally shaped antler tine; each one shifting and rattling softly with movement.
This piece pairs the deep, warm grain of reclaimed ebony with the clean curved shape of carved antler for a pendant that feels equal parts sculptural and wearable.
This is a unique design from a small series of seedpod pendants, so the exact grain and tone of each piece of sustainably sourced wood and the shape of antler tine will vary from piece to piece.
No two antler tines are ever quite the same, so this piece is a genuine one off, not a production piece.
It hangs on an adjustable waxed polyester plaited cord, making it easy to wear at your preferred length.
Pendant measures 90mm long x 25mm at its widest point
